StudyTools: Calpain Cleavage–resistant Mutant of Integrin β3 Subunit

Calpain cleavage–resistant mutant of integrin β3 subunit is generated by replacing Arginine at position 760 (located in the cytoplasmic domain of integrin β3 subunit) with glutamic acid (a negatively charged amino acid). The resulting mutated integrin β3 subunit that contains glutamic acid at position 760 instead of Arginine was resistant to calpain cleavage (Flevaris et al., 2007).
