The cell line A-2 was established from epithelial-like embryonal cells of the fish Xiphophorus xiphidium.
Recommended propagation method
Culture medium: DMEM : Ham’s F12 medium (1 : 1) + 15 – 20% heat-inactivated FBS
Culture conditions: Humidified incubator with 10% CO2 at 26 – 28°C
Split ratio: 1:3
Split frequency: 2-3 times per week
Harvesting time: Subconfluent culture (maximal density of 6-10 x 106 cells/80 cm2 )
