Cell line isolation information

The cell line FTC-133 was established from a lymph node metastasis of a follicular thyroid carcinoma from a 42-year-old male.

Recommended propagation method

Culture medium: DMEM : Ham’s F12 (1:1) + 2mM Glutamine + 10% FBS
Culture conditions: Humidified incubator, 95% air + 5% CO2, 37°C.
Split ratio: 1:8 to 1:12
Split frequency:
Harvesting time: Subconfluent culture (≈80%)
Split Method: Trypsin/EDTA
Seeding density: 10,000 – 50,000 cells/ cm2

Recommended Cryopreservation Method

Freeze medium: 40% complete culture medium + 50% FBS  + 10% DMSO
