Cell line isolation information

The cell line p-815 was established from the mastocytoma tumor of a DBA/2 mouse treated with methylcolanthrene.

Recommended propagation method

Culture medium:
90% RPMI 1640 + 10% h.i. FBS (dsmz)
90% DMEM + 10% FBS (atcc)

Culture conditions: Humidified incubator, 95% air + 5% CO2, 37°C.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days

Split ratio: 1:4 to 1:8
Split frequency: every 3-4 days
Harvesting time: > 1 x 106 cells/ml
Split Method: Dilution
Seeding density: ≈2  x 105 cells/ml

Recommended Cryopreservation Method

Freeze medium: 70% complete medium + 20% FBS *  + 10% DMSO
* One can increase the percentage of FBS upto 50%
