Formaldehyde, Formalin, and Paraformaldehyde?

Formaldehyde is a simple aldehyde with a chemical formula HCHO and a molecular weight of 30.026. It exists in the gas phase at room temperature. Formalin is a saturated aqueous solution of formaldehyde gas. At room temperature, it contains 35-37% formaldehyde. It also contains 10-12 percent methanol which stability the solution. Paraformaldehyde is the polymer of formaldehyde. It exists in a solid phase at room temperature.
