The following two methods can be used to selectively visualize arteries in the brain:
- Immunostaining with alpha-smooth muscle actin (αSMA) (Watkins et al., 2014)
- Labeling with Alexa Fluor 633 hydrazide dye (Watkins et al., 2014; Shen et al., 2012)
