ExpSup: AGS Cell Line Does Not Express E-cadherin

Hsieh et al., 1996 analyzed the surface expression of E-cadherin by flow cytometry in untreated cells and treated with TNFɑ, IL-1β, and upon heat shock. In any case, they could not detect surface expression of E-cadherin on the AGS cell line whereas E-cadherin expression was detected on other cell lines SC-MI and KATO-III.

Weydig et al., 2007 compared the expression of E-cadherin in MCF-7, AGS, and MDCK by western blotting. They also could not detect the expression of E-cadherin in the AGS cell line.

Oliveira et al., 2009 generated AGS cell clones stably expressing human E-cadherin. By western blot, they showed that only AGS cell clones stably expressing human E-cadherin were positive for E.cadherin expression, but not the control AGS cells.
