ExpSup: IL6 Induces p21 Transcription in Serum-starved HepG2 Cells

Bienvenu and coworkers analyzed the expression of p21 in serum-starved HepG2 cells upon IL6 stimulation. HepG2 Cells were serum starved for 2 days and then treated with IL6 (10 ng/ml) for 4 h. Total RNA was isolated and the p21 level was analyzed by northern blotting. They detected an increase in p21 transcripts (Bienvenu et al., 2005).
