ExpSup: Serum Stimulation Induces p21 Transcription in Serum-starved MCF7 Cells

Bienvenu and coworkers analyzed the expression of p21 in serum-starved MCF7 cells upon serum stimulation. Serum-starved MCF7 cells for 2 days were treated with 10% serum for 4 h. Total RNA was isolated and the p21 level was analyzed by northern blotting. They detected an increase in p21 transcripts. However, they found an increase in p21 transcript in response to serum stimulation (Bienvenu et al., 2005).
